Zen Shiatsu and Integrative Massage in Stowe and Morrisville Vermont.

Shiatsu Therapy

Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing and healing form of bodywork that aims to harmonize underlying imbalances in the client's energetic and physical bodies and strengthen their ability to self-heal. Shiatsu shares the same range of benefits as acupuncture but is applied using touch instead of needles. The practice of Zen Shiatsu specifically incorporates abdominal palpation, the stretching and rotation of the limbs and the use of balanced pressure along energetic pathways (meridians). The practitioner works within a meditative state, focusing on the responses of the recipient so as to properly direct the therapy.

Please notify your therapist if you would prefer to receive your treatment on a massage table as Shiatsu is traditionally received on a padded mat placed on the floor.

The recipient is fully-clothed in this treatment. It is recommended to wear loose-fitting and comfortable clothing.

Integrative Massage Therapy

Integrative Massage Therapy is a wholistic approach to treating musculoskeletal and emotional dysfunction. An Integrative Massage session involves aspects of various modalities including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular/Trigger-Point, Myofascial Release, Shiatsu, Reflexology and Reiki.

This treatment is an oil-based massage traditionally received on a massage table with the use of draping.
